Oxford University Press Copying Guidelines International copyright law allows a reader to make a single copy of a part of a book for purposes of private study. Unless explicitly stated, the copying of entire books or the making of multiple copies of extracts is not permitted by law. Please refer to the copyright statement found in each publication for details on what is permitted. In the case of audio recordings, it is permissible for a school to make one copy of an audio tape or CD, keeping the original as back-up. Only one copy may exist at any one time. A school may copy different parts of the original audio into several places, providing that no part of the original exists in more than one copy at a time. Therefore, if a school wishes to make three copies of even one part of an audio, it must possess three originals. Rights Nearly 50 OUP titles are translated into Japanese every year. The Academic Department handles all rights inquiries and arranges Japanese translation rights and other licensing agreements on behalf of OUP UK & USA. We welcome any Japanese publishers who are interested in our list. Please contact the Academic Department at ag.japan@oup.com for more information or with any questions regarding rights and licensing in Japan. Editorial Reviews & Publishing Proposals Oxford University Press publishes ELT materials in Oxford and New York. OUP Japan works closely with these publishing centers on Japan-specific projects and coordinates editorial research to inform future publishing. In order to create materials that really work in classrooms in Japan, we need to listen to the views of teachers. We try to involve as many teachers as possible in the development of our new publishing. Click here if you would like to be an OUP reviewer and provide editorial input on our future projects. If you are interested in submitting an ELT publishing proposal, please download our 'Guidelines for Proposal Submission'. Click here to download the 'Guidelines for Proposal Submission' |
